Get Active! Cultural programme for the active retired

Temple Bar Cultural Trust’s Get Active cultural programme for the active retired invites you to attend a matinee theatre performance by the Third Age Summerhill Active Retirement group.

Directed and written by Richie Ball, this is an original script performed by 12 actors from the Summerhill drama group and will take place in The New Theatre, Temple Bar, Saturday 3rd July, 3pm

Third Age Summerhill Active Retirement group presents an almost play which almost says – if Tracey Emin can make an unmade bed then so can we!  It also sort of considers sort of important questions such as ‘Is Temple Bar leading or lagging behind’?  ‘Do I need Temple Bar or does Temple Bar need me’?  And finally, if TV is the heart of the home then who controls the remote?

Home is where the art is.

For bookings please contact Eimear Chaomhánach at Temple Bar Cultural Trust on echaomhanach@templebar.ie.

Temple Bar filmmaker Dearbhla Glynn scoops first prize at Human Rights Film Awards!

Last night’s top award in the Human Rights Film Awards went to Dearbhla Glynn’s short film Gaza: Post-operation Cast Lead which tells the shocking story of how civilians are suffering in Gaza as a result of the Israeli apartheid system and the accompanying violence.

Dearbhla says “I made this film to raise awareness of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. They are completely isolated, alienated and, even given recent events, feel that the world has forgotten about them. I hope that the film will be seen by many people in Ireland, both at the ICCL’s film awards and online”.

TBCT is proud to support Dearbhla’s work and we’re delighted that her film has been recognised and awarded in this high profile competition.
